Games & Violence Workshop Information

Our workshop will take place in the building at Valakupių Street, 5 (Valakupių gatvė 5). The university building is located in the quiet park at the edge of the city in the Antakalnis district.

The building is shared between EHU and Mykolas Romeris University, so don’t be confused. Here’s how to get there.

From the railway station (Stotis): Take trolleybus # 2 from Stotis to Nemenčinės plentas. It will take about 30-40 minutes, depending on the traffic. The trolleybus stops directly at the entrance of the railway station.

Here’s the scheme of bus stops around Stotis. You need the red #2.

From the airport (Oro Uostas): for the sake of simplicity, get to the railway station first. The airport is close to the city and very well connected with it. There is an electronic schedule of public buses at the exit of the airport’s Arrival section. Look out for Stotis and proceed to the bus station which is directly at the airport’s exit. You can buy the ticket at the bus for 1 Euro. You can also take a shuttle, for the same 1 Euro, or a fast train to the railway station. (For speakers of Russian: for cultural reasons, nearly all shuttle drivers speak perfect Russian.)

Finally, you can take a taxi. If you catch it at the airport, it will most probably be a Russian-speaking taxi, but the price can be much higher. We recommend Uber or the most popular Lithuanian taxi service eTaksi. You’ll need a Lithuanian phone number to use eTaxi. Generally, in many cases, it’s better to have the local number as long as it’s cheap, so you can buy a SIM card, for example, the most popular pre-payed package Pildyk, at any kiosk.

By the way, you might want to buy an electronic ticket card to get around Vilnius. It’s called Vilniečio kortelė, and the prices are described here

As it is mentioned on the website, «Vilniečio kortelė is credited with an aprropriate amount of money and/or the selected public transport tickets. With a valid ticket in the vard, properly activated on board od public vehicle, if necessary, it is possible to change the public transport for free and for unlimited number of journeys». Practically, you can ask for «Vilniečio kortelė» at a kiosk, and then specify if you want simply to put money on it or how many pre-paid trips you want to add to it.

There are many other ways to get to the university. The web version of Google Maps has a very good transportation scheme and schedule of Vilnius public transportation — use it to build your own routes.

Finally, information for our participants who are staying at Ecotel Vilnius:

From Stotis to Ecotel: take the bus # 1G or 53 to the bus stop Žaliasis tiltas and then walk about 7 minutes.

From Ecotel Vilnius to the university: find the bus stop Lvovo g. Take the bus #4G or the trolleybus #19 that goes to the Saulėtekio direction.

Hope you made it to the end! Please save or print this page and feel free to ask for more information.
